Can. A- Chocolate syrup, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Chocolate milk, roasty, cream, malty, subtle bitter coffee. P- Full body, thin creamy texture, medium carbonation, watery finish. O- This was good and bad. Unlike most porters I’ve had and a ton like many sweet stouts I’ve had. This was as close to drinking chocolate milk as I’ve ever had in a beer.

Can. A- Wheat, subtle citrus, straw. A- Golden orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Subtle apricots, subtle peaches, citrus, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, soft finish. O- The stone fruit addition or at least my take of it was nice otherwise this was an average beer that wasn’t offensive but lacked a lot. I wish there was more of a bitterness to it as proclaimed.

16 oz can at BRGR in Prairie Village, Kansas. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a 1/2 white head. Nice head retention and lace. The aroma is floral resin, citrus peel bitterness and a bit of malt. The taste is the bitter citrus up front, and Iced Tea Crystal malt taste behind, followed by earthy resin and more bitter. The palate is medium bodied, soft active carbonation and the dry bitter finish.

Can. A- Dates, figs, raisins, cherries, dark fruits, slightly sweet, vanilla, boozy. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Sweet, caramel, dark fruits, alcohol. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, boozy finish. O- The aroma was quite nice and full of dark fruits. It did translate into the palate but it was a bit overpowered by alcohol. Complex and tasty enough.

16 oz can purchased as a single at Cork and Barrel 23rd Street in Lawrence, Kansas. The pour is a golden ruby copper with a ½ inch off white head that falls fast. The aroma is grain, slightly sweet malt, along with grassy earthy hop. The taste is the grass up front, a bit dirty with evident yeast and the grain sweet malt in the finish. The palate is medium bodied, chewy mouthfeel and a bit of mineral in the finish. Decent take on the style.

Bottle. A- Banana, bubble gum, spice. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, minimal head. T- Banana, bubble gum, cloves, coriander, spices, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- Who says a wheat beer has to be dull and unflavorful. Certainly not COOP Ale Works. Okay, so it is considered a Hefe and you can tell. I thought it balanced well but yet the aftertaste was a little off. First sip was good incorporating all flavors but the after effects left you with a lot of spice and wheat. All in all, it was quite fair.

Can. A- Pineapple, tropical fruits, subtle malts, hoppy. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Pine, bitter, citrus, subtle caramel. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Wanted a lot more citrusy juicy notes than I got but as it warmed the pineapple on the nose really came out. A little bit of caramel helped with the bitterness, but not enough.

Can. A- Caramel, dark fruits, slightly sweet. A- Amber color, clear liquid, white head. T- Sweet caramel, cream, fruity. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- For an amber ale, this had a nice sweetness and some fruitiness to it. Not just a bready, malty, boring beer.

Draft/Fest. A- Floral, pine, subtle honey, citrus. A- Copper color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Pine, floral, honey, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- If I had it my way, there would be a lot more honey and a lot less bitterness.
