On tap. Slightly hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Sweet aroma of overripe fruit and a little yeast. Quite full-bodied, lovely overripe fruit accents and a whiff of yeast. Some alcohol in the finish. More Belgian than American really. 080510

Medium beige head. Deep red body. Sugary fruity aroma with spicy caramelly raisiny notes. Dry-sweet papery spicy tropical fruit taste with syrupy honey notes. Clear Belgian yeast profile. Hot mouthfeel, but it doesn’t burn. Fullish body. Dry spicy herbal aftertaste with fruity oily notes. Hot mealy fruity burn lingers. The heat obscures some of the complexity, but adds more than it takes away. A lovely beer. (0.5l bottle, Copenhagen.)

Bottle. A hazy copper colored beer topped by a small off-white head. There’s some chili in the aroma which is quite sugary and fruity, with pale malts. It’s full bodied and slightly chili burning in the mouth, maybe a bit less burning than I would like it, and a good bitterness is also present. It has a lasting bitter finish which feels quite dry even though there’s a good dash of sweetness too. A nice beer indeed, well balanced and tasteful. 100212

7th May 2010. Copenhagen Beer Festival. Unless Eddie is pulling my pud then this is made with snuff! Clear dark brown beer, small bubbly cream head. Light dry palate. Very sweet creamy malt. A little licorice and herbs. Finishes soft and dry. A little sweet bubblegum in the aftertaste. Certainly a bit different!
