0.33 l bottle from 'Trinkgut Knödgen', best before June 2019. Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, strawberry jam, candied cherries, raisins, plums and figs. Fairly sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity taste of molasses, strawberry jam, candied cherries, raisins, plums, wet leaves and some vanilla, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, a bit boozy finish. Full body, almost oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Very sweet and simple, nothing spectacular but quite pleasant.

Flaska från Mattias. Klar guldfärgad med vit krona. Sött och lite syltigt i doft och smak med ett bett från chilin i avslutningen. Snällare än jag trott. Ligger någonstans mellan en trippel och en old school belgisk barley wine. Ok.

Chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate, couverture, chocolate sauce, a touch of nougat and toffee, some coffee, very cautious spicy overtones. Taste is slightly bitter, roasty dark malty and minimally spicy, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, a cautious, spicy touch of aniseed. A bit simple and restricted.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, deep golden with a lacing, white head. Perfumy - coriander? - nose with very typical Belgian yeast accents. Rich, sweet, fruity body, some late hops. Actually a very well made example of the style. 271218
