About
Arthur Van den Bossche founded the brewery in 1897. After his death in 1925, Elenora Callebaut, Arthur's wife and daughter of the Callebaut brewers and chocolatiers family, continued the brewery. In 1935 Willy and Mark Van den Bossche, the 2nd generation, take the helm and further expand the brewery. Ignace son of Mark Van den Bossche, 3rd generation, becomes active in the brewery in 1976. In 2015 Bruno Van den Bossche takes over the brewery from his father. The 4th generation is now taking the lead.

DØE. Hazy reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and dark fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 240513

Tap @ DØE.Dark amber/brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, yeast, dark fruits and toasted. Flavour is malt, caramel, dark fruits, yeast, little plume, medium sweet, candy and a little bitter.

Sample @ DØE. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, flowers, berries, candy sugar, malt and hops.

Flaske fra Belgisk Bryg, delt med Ovesen: flott (gardin)skum og nydelig aroma av håndlaget dessert av moreller og kirsebær Eminent munnfylde og stilriktig mørk/søtlig smak. Et øl å hygge seg med. En så liten flaske er egentlig en enkeltmannspakke.

Brown in colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of dark Belgian abbey beers, dark caramel, cherries and overripe bananas. Round body with a slick texture. Aftertaste is complex, but has also in it something not so fresh, perhaps still reminiscent of overripe bananas?

Dobry i tresciwy do tego bardzo bardzo aromatyczny. Winiakowy aromat i posmak. Kolor rubinowo-brazowy. Wielka piana i długo sie trzyma nad pokalem. Zbyt jednak mocne wysycenie ze piana sie wylewa przy srednio szybkim nalewaniu.

Bottle @ home. Hazy pale yellow color, small to medium sized white head. Smell and taste a light fruityness combined with a touch of koriander and maybe some other herbs or spices. Body and carbonation suit the beer. Pleasant and easy to drink Belgian White.

Dark brown colour, cream beige head. Aroma of wood, bordeaux, chocolate, red berries and raisins. Sweet malty flavour, wine, raisins, light sour red berries and vanilla. Red fruits. Finish wood, sour touch, wine, vanilla and raisins.

Bottle thanks to Joes @ QDT 13. Reddish brown color, small off-white head. Don’t get much aroma but that’s probably because of my hayfever (is that a word?). Taste malts, currant / berries, wood. A bit dry texture, medium to full body, medium carbonation.

Bottle @ #Bexit thx to joes. Brown colour, medium beige head. Smells herbs, oak, whisky, wood. Tastes wood, red fruits, malts, quite sweet, herbs. Medium body, soft carbo.
