Founded by Oliver Hughes & Liam Lahart, the Porterhouse Brew Co. are Ireland's pioneers of craft beer. Opening Ireland's first brewpub in the heart of Dublin, Temple Bar. Nowadays with a chain of successful bars in Dublin, London and New York the company is now producing from a state of the art brewery located in Glasnevin, Dublin. The expansion to the 120 barrel brewing facility in 2017 helps service our own bars but provides quality beer outside of the bars to consumers throughout Ireland while exporting to over 20 markets globally. The Porterhouse Brew Co. is proud to be a fully run independent brewery with a focus on consistency, quality and innovation.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - bottle #4944 - BB 15.11.2023, 11% ABV, at Black Door, 20200116) The beer poured deep mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, vanilla and grass. Palate was medium bodied, warming and rather dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, grass, vanilla, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody and bitter. A too woody brew with some pleasant notes.

Sampled from the tap at Porterhouse Temple Bar. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has bread and sweet grains with some biscuit and straw backing. Flavor has sweet bread and straw with biscuit underlying.

Sampled from the tap at Porterhouse Temple Bar. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy light citrus and grass with straw and bread backing. Flavor light earthy straw and biscuit with some musty citrus backing.

Sampled from the tap at Porterhouse Temple Bar. Pours black with a light brown head head that lasts throughout and laces. Aroma has dark grains and licorice with some earthy roast supporting. Flavor has earthy roast and licorice with a touch of sweet dark grains backing.

Aroma has sweet grains and a hint of flora with some biscuit underlying. Flavor has biscuit and creamy sweet grains with a hint of butterscotch and raisin.
