Bottled. Nut brown. Yeasty nose. Some toffee and roastiness, but it's completely dominate by sharp, thin, metallic emptiness. An expensive drain pour!

Opaquely black in colour with the smell of raisins! Very malty and strong, but not too bad for a Saranac beer--usually they are pretty bad! Long bittered finish, and somewhat offensive.

Completely golden in colour, with no sign of being 'unfiltered' or hazy, even though the bottle reports it is unfiltered. A strong smell of a wheat beer, however. The taste is subtle and refined and doesn't span much, but is a decent beer, especially for saranac, which usually produces low-quality beers.

Woe unto those that sample this vile elixir, which doth look, smell and taste as if someone hath spewed caramel syrup from his gullet, into a glass of stagnant pond water. Woe, I say! For not even the almighty himself can cleanse this putrid taste from my tongue!

Nice brown tint to a golden colour. A malty smell with a quick-fading head. A good medium-bodied taste full of malt and a nice spicy finish. One of the best Saranac beers i've had...and I don't even like the brewery!

Dark brown in colour, but not opaque. Definate chocolate noticable in the aroma. I've had many of Saranac's beers, and they've all been watered-down and very thin...but this one actually has some body! The taste isn't excellent, there is not enough of a given element to even describe the 'whole' taste, but at least there is a body to this beer!

Amber in colour, quick dissolving head. Sweet floral aroma with pleasant tones. Thin-as-always and a very light and non-powerful taste. Why do I keep buying Saranac beers? I haven't had a good Saranac beer and look how many i've sampled! Do yourself a favour--save money by not buying Saranac beers! Even when they are less than $2 for a single bottle! It's still not worth it.Amber in colour, quick dissolving head. Sweet floral aroma with pleasant tones. Thin-as-always and a very light and non-powerful taste. Why do I keep buying Saranac beers? Golden colour, nothing else. Sweet smell of berries and a bit of honey. Quick dissolving head, and very small bubbles rising throughout. Very thin body typical of Saranac beers. Very quick taste, and absolutely no aftertaste. The taste that the beer initially gives is also very weak in flavour.

Smells very sweet, very dark brown colour...but not black. Nice taste, sampled with a chocolate, but the taste from the food added nothing to the beer, and the flavour was majorly lacking.

Very light gold in colour, insane amounts of large bubbles on the inside of the glass (typical of Saranac). Very mild smell, what you might expect from a 'light'. Completely bare in flavour, also perhaps what you might expect from a 'light' beer. After trying some light beers to test out some of the bigger micro-breweries, Saranac rates down with the worst.
