Description
In 1999 the brewery was established in the ''Commanderie van St. Jan'' in Nijmegen. This 12th century monastery has since been our production location and also the place where beer has been drunk most for years. In Brouwerscafé De Hemel, the 12 taps are always filled with different brewes from Hemel. Beer production takes place in the cellars of the Commanderie.

Hazy slightly pale amber colour, white head. Fruity aroma, orange peel, apricot, citrus fruits. Wheat and some caramel. Flavour of sweet malts, some yeast character and fruity apricot and citrus. Finish slightly bitter and very fruity.
I like this beer very much when it’s fresh, but there have been older versions around that I didn’t enjoy quite as much.

Fresh aroma has soapy citrus and apricot. Stalish and fruity flavour has juniper, spices and citrus. A bit watery palate. Decent, kind of reminds me of Marikenbier.

Sweetish and a bit stale perfume-like aroma with citrus. Sweet flavour too with citrus and a bit bitter aftertaste. Some candi sugar and orange peel too. Good and drinkable, but could be more refreshing.

Sweetish, but still kind of fresh aroma has some solvent in it. Smooth and dry palate. Unfortunately the sweetish flavour has some bitterish solvent too. Rather thin stuff for a 10% BW, also it is a bit bitter in a bad way.
