Mer interessant enn egentlig god. 0,44 boks.

Can from Gulating. Unclear pale golden body with a small white head. A bit light in aroma, quite typical a pilsner, but still a light but distinct hint of kveik and juniper. Same goes for the flavor, it’s a pilsner do doubt, still a much more interesting twist of yeast, herbs and juniper. Medium body and average aftertaste. Not the best beer from Bygland but tasty and high drinkability and sure an original twist. Way more interesting than playing with NEIPA.

Can @ Håndverkeren Restaurant. Dark brown, close to black body with a small beige head. Aroma has toast, burnt caramel, some dry fruit and fruity yeast. Flavor is sweet toast, caramel, some dry fruit, hint of licorices, spicy and fruity yeast and some faint oranges. Medium body and fine aftertaste. This is a quite original, well made and surprisingly well balanced beer for the grocery marked. Probably superb for Christmas food.

Can @ Håndverkeren. Clear deep brown body under a small, beige head. Aroma is medium strong dark malt with distinct smoke, light caramel and fruity yeast. Flavor is relatively mild for such a distinct smoked beer, pretty smooth actually, sweet without being sticky, fruity kveik, juniper and moderate bitterness. OK body and long lasting aftertaste that ends up a bit sweet after a while. Tasty, smooth, quite interesting and relatively easy drinkable (unless you're a sissy with smoked malt) but ends up a but sweet. Probably nice together with cured meat etc.

Tap @ Både &. Unclear golden body with a small white head. Aroma has malt and fruity Kveik. Flavor is mild pale malt, some general fruitiness, a faint hint of smoke, berries from the forest and some wet grassy bitterness. Well balanced body and average aftertaste. Unusually, but well balanced and has some kind of harmony I’m beginning to appreciate.

Can @ Håndtverkeren. Murky orange body with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity like tropical fruit juice and a little hint of juniper. Flavor is also mostly refreshing tropical fruit with just a little hint of herbs and juniper. Medium body ans aftertaste in the same direction. Sure a nice and easy refreshing beer, but frankly I miss the Bykland/kveik signature. Of course this is exactly what all the new kids in the block wants but for me this is just another easy drinkable fruity session something.
