A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet alcoholic with strong fruity notes - peaches being most dominant, but also noticeable hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and alcohol, as well as light notes of wood. The alcohol is also felt, it burns the mouth and throat.

Tap at the brewpub - a lot of coffee beers taste too much like coffee and not enough like beer; others are the opposite - this beer strikes a nice balance between the too - the aroma is of freshly ground itallian roast (or some other dark roast), but has enough background lactic/malt sweetness to cut it - the beer is very dry, complimenting the coffee flavor, but there is enough chocolate malt, dry mineral character, etc. to satisty even those beer drinkers that don’t like coffee - solid and well-balanced.

Tap at the brewpub - this is, quite simply, the best pilsener I’ve ever had - perfect clarity, with a nice head retention - extraordinarily floral aroma, almost saison-like in that respect, but the distinct pils hop aroma is there, along with a light, bready malt - the flavor is mildly sweet and quite buttery, with the floral character of the aroma really coming through, along with some very nice light fruity esters (mostly berries) - everything ends with a crisp, hop bite and lingering sweetness on the tongue - really great stuff.

Bottle on 01/02/2011. Clear dark amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel and toasty malt aroma. Toasty malt, caramel, and slight bready flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation. 7/4/7/3/13 - 3.4 02/27/2006 - Clear dark amber color. Sweet malt aroma with a touch of grassiness. Flavor is sweet but the grassiness is somewhat detracting. 6/3/6/3/12 - 3.0

This is the first beer I have had from this company. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a rich mahogany color with a large tan head. The aroma is sour, malty and nutty with a hint of chocolate. The flavor is sour and bitter with a fruity and nutty undertone and a hint of chocolate on the finish.

Deep dark black with a very thin off white head and mauvish hues. Light chocolate moka aroma with roasted coffee notes. In mouth, rich smooth chocolate and vanilla, light roasted nuts and a good staying mouthfeel, with some lingering chocolate bitterness. Yahoo! Bought at Beers of the World, Feb. 2006. Enjoyed with Capflu on Feb. 18, 2006.

Cask at the Brazen Head cask fest in a10oz glass. This one came in at a 5% alcohol level. It was yellow, very light looking, very little head. It smelled great though, an apple-syruppy smell. It tasted nice, weak body though. Sweetness but not anything overpowering. Very good combo for a light beer with lots of taste. 7/2/7/3/14
Three years between batches, too long. I have to thank Bill for getting me this bottle, I love Southampton but just moved out of NY. Fortunately, Bill was able to score some stuff for me. It pours with lots of anger, a quick rush of foam and carbonation bubbles. The head is at first medium-large, fades quickly but not completely. The color of the beer is a light golden, clear with lots of visible carbonation bubbles. Looks very pretty. Here comes the aroma and I am quiet surprised and delighted. Its has a strong floral sweetness surrounded by a light doughiness from the yeast. A sweet perfume flower with a very faint herbal character at the very end, if I look hard enough anyway. Its perfectly melded, strong but not too sweet, or too floral, perfectly present and well, I like it. Taste is similar except that sweet floralness takes a back seat and the herbal character grows stronger. There is a light, faint muted lemon zing there as well. This all finishes with a lightly dry bitterness. This makes it absolutely quaffable, can just keep drinking it for days. It is in general very fresh and springtime-like. As I pour more from the bottle these aspects of the beer grower stronger and the color gets darker, thicker, and murkier. Actually looks awesome going from the clear beer to the thick little clarity body.
22oz bottled in Dec, 2008, Bell’s tulip glass, thanks again beerbill.

(Bottle 18,7 cl) Slightly hazy, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Extremely rich aromas - overripe fruits in particular. Very full-bodied with some heavy alcohol and vinous, sherryish notes. Hoppy finish. Delicate all right, but not overly sophisticated. 160206
