Description
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station opened May 2013 in Point Loma’s now-historic Naval Training Center. Our newest restaurant venture celebrates the venue’s prior history as a U.S. Navy mess hall, while introducing new industrial and organic features of metal, concrete, reclaimed wood, plant life, water and glass. The restaurant encompasses more than 23,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining and bars, as well as a bocce ball court, outdoor cinema space and an 11,315-square-foot garden. True to our philosophy, we support an artisanal, natural approach to food, and are the largest restaurant purchaser of small-farm organic produce in San Diego County. Executive Chef Rich Sweeney offers an eclectic and creative menu of world-inspired cuisine, and our bar features 40 taps of exceptional craft beers, including Stone year-round and special releases and beers from other small breweries.

Sample at the 29th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival on 07/30/2016. The beer is a clear yellow-gold color with a thin white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, spice and yeast. Citrusy and salty flavor with floral yeast in the background. The finish is moderately tart with a lemony aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Murky unclear pale yellow color, no head. Aroma is weird and quite unfresh although I can’t describe it properly. Taste is hugely INSANELY hot, burning hot chili peppers or whatever. Horrible and undrinkable crap.

Cask at The BSF Bar (Trade Day) GBBF, Tuesday 9th August 2016 Woah his is hot, hazy silvery gold colour, I am sure that there are other things going on here with this beer but I just get heat, heat, heat and more heat, fair play to Geraint who got this beer and enjoyed his purchase, it wasn’t for me.A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Tap at OBF 2016. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is salt and something lemony. Near med body. Flavor salt/mild citrus - a little earthy or maybe a little smoky. There’s something there. There’s a quite nice finish with salt noticeable.

Poured up on tap at the Liberty Station brewpub where it exhibits a deep clear gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up apricot, lemon grass, mango and tangelo. Nice. The taste delivers bitter near resiny like pine hops and then quickly getting into juicy tangelo and mango. To midway the floral hop bitterness rises up amid the tropical fruity juiciness and resiny pine hops. Solid IPA.

Poured up on tap at the Liberty Station brewpub where it exhibits a slightly hazy gold body that supports a thin white head. The aroma offers up light wheat notes bleeding into pear and sweet apple like esters and then a mild tartness at the edge of the experience. The taste delivers thin refreshing notes that are mildly acidic and then get into a nice wheat note flowing into sweet pear and apple like fruity esters. Pretty nice but the sweet fruity esters do get in the way.
