Bottle from an online shop, drink while watching Lochdown. Dark caramel brown, small fine-bubbled head. Syrupy malty nose with earthy hints. Surprisingly smooth for 12%, woody notes, not as sweet as I'd expected. Nice malt complexity with a bit of dried fruit. Still some subtle alcohol notes even though I haven't let it warm up from the fridge. Really pleasant Starkbier, cracking good!

Gold with a frothy white head that lingers. Very little aroma: hints of grain, metals. Taste is mildly grainy bitter throughout with a soggy, cereal finish. Slight lingering fruitiness. Medium bodied, moderate watery texture. Mundane.

Das Miltenberger Festbier der Brauerei Faust, etikettiert als Original Eisenbacher Mirabellenfest-Bier, Flasche aus Vielbrunn im Odenwald. - Braungold, klar.

Bottle from an online shop, drunk after some nice Vietnamese take out. Hazy reddish brown, no head, big nose of vanilla, oak, sherry, brown sugar. Flavor is massive and very smooth for the ABV, I'd have guessed much less. Raisins, hint of soy/umami, well balanced... Wow this is a great barleywine. Excellent brewery, with almost every beer I've tried so far being a hit.
