Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle; synthetic cork
Measured Final Gravity: 1016
Hazy dark blond color. To be frank, I had German supermarket meads at 3€ for 750ml that were as good as this one; too much honey and wax. Moderate sweetness, warming alcohol but no booze kick.
No pleasure.

Thanks AFH for sharing this with me. Light peach color orange. The nose is awesome. sweet (obviously) with vanilla dominating and a touch of cocoa. There’s a lot going on here. every aspect is well represented (coffee, cocoa and vanilla). sweet honey and orange with cumin and cloves. really tasty.

Older bottle from the basement, I believe from 2010. Reddish amber color with a smattering of bubbles on the top. Rich sweet honey and dark fruit notes on the nose with a hint of caramel, alcohol, and light sherry notes. The flavor is fruity honey with a hint of apple and again light sherry. I think its better fresh, I’m a big fan of this mead, but its interesting how the flavors have evolved over the last few years.

Deep golden color with moderate legs. Rich sweet honey aromas with a hint of carmelization deep fruit and alcohol. Faint coffee flavors awash in sweet honey. Not my favorite Moonlight mead.

On draft at Trio in Kill Devill HIlls, NC. Pours a clear deep purple with a light purple head. Honey and berry nose. Flavors of dark cherries. Sweet, smooth, but boozy finish.

375 ml bottle. Dark red/ purple color. Aroma is berries, honey and mild plastic. Flavor is a carbon copy of the aroma. Nice Berry hint but mostly honey. Body is on the flimsy side for any mead. Certainly drinkable without question.

I had notes for this but they are corrupted in some way. Appearance was a lfaded yellow. aroma of tree fruit, mango and apricot for sure but I usually lean toward peaches as my identifier. Taste was sweet, the honey shines really well with a mulch and thyme like finish.

Gorgeous color, dark blue with red. Aroma was nice, faint tree bark dominated by currant. Taste is a different story. thin, not a ton of flavor but it has a nice tart finish.

Hazy Yellow, 75CL bottle was slightly carbonated. Aroma is very boozy, vanilla, clove. taste is also boozy but mostly at the finish. So much fresh honey in this. it’s like earthy sweet honey, totally shines more than most meads. really special.
