Description
Since George and Susannah Bateman opened our independent family brewery in 1874, we’ve been using the best possible ingredients and craft brewing methods to make beers that people love.
Four generations later, and we’re still doing things our own way – and have quite a few more beers to our name.

Amber coloured with small beige/gold head. Aroma is very sweet, creme brulee, malt, bit of coffee, caramel. Taste is equally sweet and sugarry. In fact pretty much the same as the smell. In spite of myself, I quite liked it, but it was definitely nothing that special and got a bit sickly the second time round.

Bottle: frothy head, deep ruby brown color. Sweet muscat grapes aroma with some licorice. Butter, malt, caramel and grapes in the flavor. Some hops, but these are overpowered by the fruity sweetness. Cinnamon. Nice warming ale, in spite of it's modest alcohol content.

Bottle in Trade from Mark. Clear amber pour, mininal head. Sweet, tannic aroma. Taste too recalls tobacco, but comes off as too sweet. Just not liking this one.
