GBBF. Cask. Hazy deep brown beer. Light dry palate. Even malt base, nice hops - fresh pine and a little citrus. Semi dry finish. Nicely hopped drinkable red.

Bottle from a trade with ketchepillar. Pours dark reddish brown color with tan head. Aromas of toffee, vanilla, wood and Bourbon. Sweet caramel and vanilla flavors with Bourbon and some woodiness. The Bourbon adds a nice flavor and is not too overpoweing. Medium to full body with soft carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Thanks Sam.

Golden. Thin head. Minty, leafy, slightly fruity aroma. Lots of bitterness. Light herbal, fruity hop character. Pale malts provide a little bit of balance. A decent example, not too rich.

Very dark brown with a thick even head. The aroma is lightly roasty. Full-bodied, nice roasty, chocolatey character. Dries out in the finish, but without any hop character. Good balanced stout, maybe not showing enough oatmeal for the style, but a good stout.

After the boring Amber, my expectations for the Red were pretty low. Well, I was really impressed by this beer. It’s a very strong example, so there is room to pack in some burly flavour. Dark amber-red colour is already a step ahead of the game. Smells good - probably the Simcoe talking. This hop character combines well with the richer crystal malts used. Rich, nuanced, almost smoky, there’s a lot of reasons to give the Red a second look.

Slightly hazy copper. Fairly caramelly-earthy amber. Boring, bog standard example of the style. Not bad, but couldn’t hold my interest long enough to evaluate it more closely. That’s not good.

Straw colour. Slightly limey mellow hop aroma. Moderate bitterness, again with quite a fruity character. Dry and lean like a northern German pils, moreso than I was expecting.

Amber-brown. Big Rodenbach aroma with lots of wood, deep fruit. Tart and woody palate, with a slight balsamic character. Good beer, and remains similar to Rodenbach throughout the entire experience. Can’t go wrong making that beer.

Amber. Bright. Aroma of cannabis, leaves and some grapefruit. Rich bitterness, clean malts. Earthy, weedy, leafy. Good IPA - but I am a sucker for both Columbus and Amarillo.

Hazy. Yellow. Footy, coriander aroma - and the spice just can’t cover up the dirty yeast. Slightly coriandery, wheaty but with lots of alcohol. Not terribly effective - it’s a touch concept to execute and this one comes off boring and muddled.
