Bottle. A dark brown to black beer with a small dark beige head. Roasted, slightly burnt aroma with a touch of charcoal, licorice and prunes. Some hoppy fruityness too. It's medium bodied and quite dry on the palate, a bit heavy on the carbonation, with some burnt malts bitterness. Roasted and burnt malts in the flavor, along with charcoal, hints of prunes and burnt down bonfire. Quite long finish. Not bad this one, but the carbonation level is too high. 220812

330 ml bottle, at the brewery hotel. ABV is 4.7%. Deep brown colour, on the border between brown ale, mild ale and porter. Small off-white head. Moderate aroma of malts, caramel and honey. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. The flavour is malty, but not overly sweet. Hints of caramel and honey again. Very moderate hops. Easy drinking.

Shared bottle at Lilland tasting. ABV is 8.6%. Black colour, tan head. This is actually a hopped-up stout (American hops) rather than a Black IPA (also according to the brewer), but call it what you like. Aroma and flavour of roast malts, strong coffee (too much, maybe?) and American piney hops, hints of lactose. Good mouthfeel, with distinct bitterness both from the hops, the roast malts (or possibly roasted unmalted barley?) and the kettleboiled coffee, the latter was added directly in the fermentation tank. Maybe not perfectly balanced, but a beer I'll be happy to try again.

Rerate, sample on tap, as Lilland Lager. Tastes like a decent Dortmunder. I'm upping the flavour and mouthfeel scores a couple points. Original rating: Shared bottle at Lilland tasting. Should be called a Czech Lager, as it has Saaz hops, and no German hops at all. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of floral Saaz hops. Tastes \"unfinished\" and slightly yeasty with hints of green apples, should probably have been fermented and lagered longer. Distinct bitterness, but the alcohol is dominant.

Shared bottle at Lilland tasting. ABV is 4.7%. Clear brown colour, white head. Moderate aroma, a hint of caramel. The flavour is too dry, hints of caramel, mild roasty notes, hints of mild coffee. Too moderate hops, even for a brown ale. Boring.

Shared bottle at Lilland tasting. ABV 5.5%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate malty aroma. Moderate but sufficient carbonation. Typically British, does not taste as strong as it is. Malty but not sweet flavour, moderate to low bitterness, but has still sufficient earthy hops.

Bottle shared in the evening sun with JMD 20.06.21. Clear pale greenish yellow. No head. Refreshing aroma and taste of sour wild apples, cider apples and a hint of sulphur. Good and drinkable! Quite dry.
