Description
When the young Viennese banker Franz Schaup started brewing beer in 1858, he did not expect his small brewery to develop into one of the most successful breweries in Austria over the years.

In the meantime, the Zipf brewery near the Attersee has a proud 13 beers and 3 types of hops, the refreshment with hop lemonade for adults, to their range. A total of 170 employees work directly at the location in Zipf. They are the ones who ensure that everything runs smoothly every day and are responsible for a large part of the success of the Zipfer brand.

Despite the numerous technical innovations and a merger with Brau Union Österreich AG in 1970, the careful use of resources and brewing with natural hops were always in the foreground.

This one poured a light yellow colour with a nice thick, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of spice, corn, cinnamon and bubblegum. First taste was slightly watery with flavours of bubblegum and hand cream. Finish is smooth and very flavoured iin gum and cream.

bottle, Hypernova Ceské Budejovice. Hazy deep golden colour with an orange glow. Large white head. Aroma of Nivea hand creme. Full-bodied, quite spicy again with the flavour of a certain cosmetic product. Not in a negative sense, though, this is quite nice actually. Sweet and spicy with some herbal flavours and a creamy texture. Extremely unusual, but rather nice.

Bottle in Vienna, 2006. Has a rather strong malt aroma. A little bit like a Maertzen. Slightly strong tasting, rich in malt and a little bit sweet. A touch of citrus as well. Can taste the alcohol slightly too. Well balanced with lots of hops. Crisp and relatively light in body. Very refreshing and nice.
