Description

27/V/17 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ Adam Chandler Visiting (for real this time) Tasting (home) - BB: VIII/2017 (2017-654) Thanks to Bierridder_S for the trade!
Clear bright blond beer, big solid creamy white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a lot of lacing in the glass. Aroma: very oxidized, some honey, grains, cow fodder. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, fruity, malts, pretty bitter touch, some honey, yeast. Aftertaste: bitter, some almonds, very oxidized, sweet touch, dry finish, bit spicy. Tastes like a typical De Graal beer with some age on.

2/XII/16 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ home - BB: IV/2017 (2017-5) Thanks to Bierridder_S for the trade!
Clear deep purple brown to almost black beer, big solid creamy beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very very roasted, lots of coffee, charcoal, cocoa powder, dry and dusty. MF: lively carbon, too much for a stout, medium body. Taste: very roasted, lots of strong coffee, some cocoa powder, sourish touch, little sweet, some caramel, banana peel. Aftertaste: more coffee, bit fruity, hoppy touch, caramel, some dark chocolate, dry and roasted finish.

Bottle @ home. Lightly unclear yellow color, full sized rough white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, lightly citrussy. Taste malts, citrus, light herbal yeast, lightly bitter. Average to decent body and carbonation. Hmm ok.

Pours clear amber. OK white head. Smell is grainy, and very yeasty. Taste is full, malty, very yeasty ( overripe fruits ) bit sweet. Another random yeasty belgian beer... at this point, i’m just happy its not overcarbonated, at least.

Bottle @ home. Clear a bit rusty orange golden color, full sized quickly diminishing white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, straw, a slight somewhat hidden fruityness which reminds me of grapes and apple, moderate to medium bitterness. Perhaps a note of typical Belgian yeast, but it doesn’t bother me that much. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad, decent beer.
