Bottle from Bicester Avenue Garden Centre, Bicester. Black with a light beige head and a moderate fizz. Maybe a little thin. Soot up front before sweeter chocolate comes through. Nice balance of flavours even though the treacle mentioned on the bottle seems to have gone awol. Quite drinkable if not that exciting; it's that rare thing, a stout that's genuinely sessionable and that you could drink all night.

Nose is pale malts, grass, toasted grains, light cereals, hint of lemon. Taste comprises soft and pale malts, light breads, straw, mellow hop presence, cereals, fruit esters.
