Can, courtesy of TheHoff43: Pecan nose, with a hint of raisins and dark chocolate. Mahogany, thick tan head, fair retention. Pecan and raisin flavor, dark chocolate overtones, but indistinct, muddled. Vanilla finish. Soft carbonation, light body. More nutty than anything, but nice.

Pours a dark brown, veering toward black. Small, quickly vanishing head. Aroma has some chocolate and vanilla--not overly pronounced, but it’s there. Flavor is very stout like, with chocolate, some coffee, the vanilla, and other Christmasy spices. Some marked fruitiness, too. Not bad for what it is; maybe just not my thing.

Pours a dark reddish-brown, with small head. Spicy, floral aromas. Flavor is a big dose of ginger--maybe too much? There’s a complex mix of floral, spicy, sweet tastes all fighting in there. Glad to give it a try once, but I doubt I’ll be buying this again.

12 ounce can thanks to Ryan. Pours a clear dark copper color with a small white head. A somewhat odd spicy and seemingly sour nose. Similar flavor: big sweet potato, spices, a light acidic lemon, some mellow toffee. Pretty nice. Very definable as a sweet potato.

Can shared at CBC Islington during the Ryan Tasting - many thanks to Ryan the Can Man. Pours brown with a big, frothy beige head. Good baking cocoa in here, rich pine, some toasty bread. A solid black IPA on the whole. Very drinkable, pretty dynamic.
