Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

Bottle. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is lots of dark chocolate, some warming alcohol. Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Full body, not too heavy. Very good, but not exceptional.

(Bottle) Golden colour with big, frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of lemon, pineapple, mango, white bread, honey and some resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, lemon peel, pineapple, honey, white bread, crisp grainy malt and a generous citric/resiny bitterness in a dryish finish. Medium body, mainly dry but with a slight sweetness. Fresh, tasty and highly drinkable. Quite nice.

Bomber from Craft Beer Kings. Pours dark brown with a ruddy aspect during the pour and a transient tan head. Aroma of peanut, dark malt, chocolate and something coffee. Med + body. Flavor is chocolate, coffee and dark malt with moderate peanut spread over all. It's kind of creamy. Drier than expected. Bitter. Hop? Coffee? Both? Thankfully the peanut is not over done. Quite drinkable.

Bottle. Toffee malt, and weedy fresh hay aroma. Amber with large light tan head. Mildly sweet toffee malt and moderately bitter/astringent fresh hay flavor. Good body. Pretty spot-on Altbier.
