Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

335 ml. bottle from Systembolaget. Hazy, golden colour with a medium sized, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, pale malts, light spicy. Faint caramel malts. Taste is bitter. Light to medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter with citrus fruits. Some hops oils. Lovely, zesty lighter IPA.

Bottle from Corti Brothers. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Smells exactly like the good old root beer from days of yore. Med body. Flavor is very sarsaparilla. Maybe the flavor is sturdier than the good old stuff. It is not dry. Not cloying either, tho it makes me think about it. Very nice thing to have.

Good to be #10. Pours very hazy orange with a slight white head. Aroma is mildly tart, with cherry hints and an uncertain malt. Near med body. Flavor is quite tart, arguably a bit sour, with noticeable sour cherry, and some wheat. Mostly tart cherry. Stronger than oh so many sour cherry ales. Yet it isn’t near the same ball park as a good kriek. Still, if you seek fruit and sour, this might satisfy.

Dark brown pour with a medium fizzy light beige head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of root beer and malt. Medium body with a root beer character and vanilla and spice notes. The finish is sweet with a mildly spicy root beer aftertaste. Decent overall.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out stone fruits and some bready caramel notes. Flavour brings out tart stone fruits upfront - not terribly complex but it's at least cohesive. Okay.

Hazy blonde. Light bitterness and basic fruity, slightly woody hops. Decent beer. Like the big can.
