Description
WHAT'S AN UPSLOPE?
Meteorologically speaking, it’s a front range-covering, water-table-filling, snow-dumping weather pattern that anyone with bindings and a roof rack would die for. Beerologically speaking, it’s carbonated gold. In 2008, Matt Cutter, Henry Wood and Dany Page, kissed their homes in Cleveland, Atlanta and Argentina goodbye to bring their beer-brewing love affair to Boulder, Colorado. With that, Upslope Brewing Company was born. And after ten years of supplying Colorado with trailhead tallboys, and pow-day libations made from the freshest snowmelt, the finest hops and the purest passion for living life outdoors, one thing has become undeniable. These guys didn’t just float another microbrew into the sea of Colorado microbrews. They created a lineup of quality craft beer that tastes as good poured from a tap as they do pulled out of a fishing vest. In other words, for those who call the Continental Divide home, the perfect storm.

7/10
Not too shabby Mexican dark lager, it's crushable, flavorful, and hits the spot.

355ml can from Home Bargains (I think): BB 14th October 2023. Drank at home on 25th June 2023. Clean and clear light golden body, large white crown. Dry feel in the mouth, grainy, slight citrus note, not a great beer, even for the cheap price.

Slightly piney and citrusy fruity, minimally floral, hoppy and pale as well as slightly caramel malty aroma, notes of pine, hints of pineapple and lemon. Taste is moderately bitter, piney, minimally fruity hoppy, hints of pineapple, a touch of lemon, pale and caramel malty basis with low residual sweetness, minimally floral overtones. Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Simple, drinkable, not many Citra characteristics detectable - OK.

Can from Home Bargains, Inverurie. It pour sclear orangey - amber with a decent frothy white cap. The aroma is sweet, tangy, zingy citrus, candied lemon, grapefruit, lemonade, dull toffee, biscuit and bread. The taste is crisp and dry upfront, some greenish bitterness, bitterness lingers, touch of pine, pithy, zesty, lemonade, grapefruit, pomello, touch of toffee, bread and biscuit. Finish is zesty. Average body and moderate carbonation. A failry standard style US citra pale. Not a hige amout to it, but it drinks real easy.

Can from Home Bazargains. It pours clear golden - blonde with a fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, grassy, herbal grain, cracker, cheap doughy white bread and a touch of spice. The taste is crispy, dry, fairly, grassy, herbal, grainy sweet doughy white bread, cheap ambient cake picked up from a corner shop late at night and creamed corn with a dry finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Fairly basic stuff, masquerading as a craft lager.

Can from Home Bargains US bottle shop, Byfleet. Aroma combines slightly sweet tangy citrus with resin. Clear copper gold. Blotchy frothy white head. Medium citrus sourness followed by resin and spice. Caramel edge into the finish alongside malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. A citrusy and bitter rough and ready APA.
