Tap at the brewery - clear copper - lively pour - seems very much like a lager (an Oktoberfest, to be exact) - a lot of clean, smooth, lightly sweet maltiness - a fair amount of toasted grain flavor - moderate bitterness on the tail end - a little husky in the finish, but otherwise clean and lightly estery - not bad.

Tap at the brewery - clear gold pour - moderate carbonation - nose of grassy noble hops and clean maltiness - flavor is semi-dry and very crisp - peppery and lightly fruity hops dominate - very mild, clean, lighty sweet malt - lightly spicy finish - very tasty.

Draught at Dry Dock in Tokyo. Pretty reddish-bronze color. Caramel malt nose, a bit earthy. Rich malt flavor, great caramel and grains, a bit of fruit, with a dirty, English hop finish. Nice show of malt. Tasty.

Tap at Dry Dock - murky brown/black pour - looks like French press coffee - intense, earthy vanilla aroma, without much else present, but the vanilla is quite pleasant - in the flavor, the vanilla is well-integrated with the nuttiness, coffee and roast of the malt - nice balance of dark malt bitterness and vanilla sweetness - some touches of caramel - if you don’t like vanilla, it probably isn’t for you, but it is nicely done.

Tap at Dry Dock - gold pour with a very slight haze - well-retained head - a lot of lemon, grapefruit pith and orange in this one, making me wonder if this batch has some citra hops in it - light body, but full carbonation makes the mouthfeel fairly full - light pale malt sweetness - some crisp, peppery character in the finish - nothing terribly complex, but fairly tasty.

Tap at Dry Dock - hazy chestnut color - nose of hazelnut, roast, toffee, light oxidation - soft carbonation in the mouth - quite dry, with moderate hard water/mineral character and ligh oxidation - suppose they were going for the authentic, British, Burton kind of character - it works pretty well - flavor of roasted nuts and toasted bread - very light bitterness on the end - milds are tough to do - I’d say they pulled it off well.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a lightly hazed yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruity hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrus, hops, wheat and malt. The finish is hoppy up front with a bready malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours black with a medium beige head that diminishes to an outer ring. Aroma of roasted malt and vanilla coffee. Medium body with a roasty malt character and notes of vanilla, mild hops and coffee. The finish alternates between vanilla and chocolate and leaves a lightly bitter coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.
