Clear golden color, small white head, some lace. Fruity, lemon-citrus aroma. Similar flavor: crisp lemony fruity hops and pale malts. Lemon peel fruityness in the aftertaste. Refreshing and suprisingly clean brew from Sigtuna - they have certainly improved in two years. Ok house beer.

Bottled vintage 2009 brewed 13.2.2009 @Man In The Moon
Hazy deep amber color, steady medium-sized creamy off-white head. Yeasty leather, cloak aroma with hints of smoke. Flavor has smoke, hops, wet wood and alcohol. Quite hoppy for being a Barley Wine. Some Sigtuna’s "house flavors" are there too.

Bottled@Man In the Moon, Stockholm. Hazy ambery brown colour, small beige creamy head. Aroma is hops, caramel malts, wood and some mild spicy notes as well. Flavour is wood, yeast, toffee, spices, herbs and some mild notes of smoke and leather.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 19 Sep 2009) Hazy reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Lumps of sediment floating around. Fruity, almost tart nose with dried fruit, apricots and burnt rubber. Fruity, sourish taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, rubber and earthy hops. Slightly more than medium body, balanced sweetness. The sharp and almost tart character gets a bit cloying after a while. Not too impressed by the wood ageing (or was this just a bad bottle?). Might have to give it a new chance if possible.

(Draught at Flying Scotsman, Stockholm, 2 Oct 2009) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, bready nose with notes of toffee, dried fruit and apricots. Malty, slightly fruity taste with bread, dried apricots, toasty malt and a grassy, fairly short finish. Slightly above medium body, with some malt sweetness throughout. Well balanced and tasty.

(Draught at Flying Scotsman, Stockholm, 2 Oct 2009) Black colour with ruby hints. Frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, dark fruit, well roasted grain and hints of chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and a dry, grainy finish with hints of dark fruit. Moderate bitterness. Medium body. Well balanced and nice.

Draught@SBWF2009. Deep ambery brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is nuts, roasted malts, pleasant wood and mildly herbal and liquoricesish notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a very good balance. Toasted caramel malts and ashes in the finish.
