Aroma of malt, dried fruits, oak, sugary notes, vinous, caramel, toffee, tart overripe apples, some Brett funk. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet. Interesting clash of flavours, but a bit too much malt and toffee for my taste.

From a 330ml bottle on 31/12/2024. New Year's beer, courtest of Ed, and shared with Ed and Butz. Pours a deep brown with no head. The nose features dark chocolate, caramel and stewed and dried dark fruit (prunes, raisins, figs). This all comes through on the sip as well, with uber intensity. Ultra boozy and warming at the back with a roasty, spicy, licorice bitterness that lingers long, but it somehow it's not too much. You're not surprised it's 32% but it actually does present as beer, which is not always the case with these crazy high abv efforts. The palate is slick, syrupy and oily, the carbonation softish. I didn't think it would be this good. Great work Bridge Road.

Never sure how different these Christmas beers are. Can, cold. Gold with a rapidly disappearing white head. Aroma of cheap icecream. Taste is more convincing icecream - sweet, a little caramel, decent vanilla. A little bitterness keeps it drinkable.

Can, Bridge Rd Advent box. Pours gloopily. Opaque orange with a white head. Yes, smells like fresh passionfruit pulp. Tart with a sweet creamy background that's presumably the lactose. Really does taste like a pav but less sweet. Not really for me - the can asks Ever wondered what pavlova would taste like in beer form?, to which the answer is obviously of course not - but very well done.

Can, from their Advent pack. My 200th Bridge Rd rating here as the sun sets over RateBeer. Just misted gold with a loose white head that fades to a cm. 3+ Vibrant aroma of mango and other tropical fruit, then peach and citrus. Maybe a little bread. Still overly fruity in the taste but it's pretty lean so gradually the blousier fruit is reeled by slight peppery bitterness. No great depth but refreshing.

Can, their Advent box. Clear golden amber with a small white head. Aroma of fleshy mango, some mandarin and lemon, bread. Leanish but fruity at first with a straightening peppery and pine bitter finish. Refreshing.

Bottle, their Advent calendar. Clear deep gold with a brief inch of white head. Funky aroma of crackers, grapes, old lemons, bootpolish, candied pineapple. More sweet than sour with lots of fruit and bootpolish funk with old oak and gentle acidity providing a drying finish. I would have liked it a tad drier, but pretty classy.
