I suppose if the red man is doubly fat the capaciousness of his sack is occluded. Canvent. Deep red amber with a beige head. Brooding toffee and stewed fruit aroma with lighter tropical fruits struggling through. But the hops cut though more than I recall they do in fm,rs,bs and the sweetness is less prominent. Some tropical fruit, resin, citrus and pepper towards the fairly bitter end. Not what I expected at all.

Can from their advent box. Gold with a cm of white head that doesn't hang around. Aroma is lightly grainy with light spices and a little apricot. Almost clean - there's a tiny earthy touch - with crackery bread, very little apricot but a nicely punchy spicy bitter finish. Sound and fresh.

Can. Gold with a brief white head. 3- Aroma of crackery dough, cloves, white pepper, coriander, some apricot. Light bodied. Moderately sweet and fruity before a moderately bitter punchily spiced finish.

Can from their advent calendar. Cloudy brownish yellow. Smells of sharpish ginger. Fairly sweet with a little oldish lemon as well as ginger. OK.

Can. Fair hazy orange with a good cm of white head. Tropical fruit cup aroma with light bread. A bit creamy soft body that also makes it all a bit muffled (par for the style). Lots of tropical fruit where the sweetness is just about countered by a citrus edge before a modestly bitter finish.

Can. Hazy yellow orange with a cm of white head. Aroma of orange, crackers, some tropical fruit cup. Getting towards watery. The fruit becomes a bit twiggy towards the end due to lack of something to sit on. OK for a dustcutter.

Can. Deep clear amber with a dense cm of beige head. Floaty aroma of honeydew melon, green pine branch, glace pineapple, caramel. After the slightly surprising lightness of the aroma the caramelised and dank torpical notes (remininscent of Bridge Rd's Hop Rain) make the whole thing more like the balancing act you'd expect. Medium high bitterness.

Advent calendar opened early. Can. Pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of (obviously actual) lemon, crackers, honeydew melon, light spices. Dryish with snappy fruit, swift spicy bitterness. Indeed, a refreshing thirst quencher.

Can. Somewhat hazy golden amber with a white head. Heavy mango & papaya aroma with some lighter citrus notes trying to break through. But citrus and some strong weedy and piny notes roar through in the taste towards a firmly bitter finish. Not quite sure it's the best of both worlds but it's interesting and pungent.

Aromas of cocoa, tangerine, cream, pine, coffee and vanilla cake. Thick mouthfeel with an interesting mix of those flavours. Not necessarily an easy drink, but a very good one.
