Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #8: Pours hazy orange with a fully diminished off-white head. Citrus/orange hops aroma with a light spiced towards light acidic touch. Flavour is sweet malt and light yeasty. Shows a semi dry hops flavour following. Light spiced hops flavour into the far finish.

Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a lazing light brown head. The aroma is sweet with citrusy and malty notes. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits and candy sugar, leading to a dry bitter and spicy finish. Thanks Myrup for fetching this and sharing it.

(Bottle 70 cl) Pours a hazy, orangey brown with a dense, lively, off-white head. Very fruity nose. Quite full-bodied with rich and very sweet roasted malts, some dried fruits, yeast and some almost Port-like accents - even a hint of licorice. Very Christmasy! A little to little hops to balance all the goood, sweet stuff in here, but quite lovely. 040408

(Bottle 70 cl) hazy golden with an off-white head. Fresh, lightly citrusy nose. Quite full-bodied with sweet fruit accents, a little spice and diacetyl. Has a vague bitterness in the finish. A bit too much on the sweet side. 040408

70 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a lacing off white head. Annis seed spiced aroma. Flavour is sweet and liqourice. Mellow yeasty and light spiced. Sweet caramel malt. Lingering spiced yeasty and fruity finish. Nice but too dominant annis seed spiced.

70 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a dense white head. Caramel, yeasty and spiced aroma. Flavour is sharp yeasty spiced, mellow and smooth caramel. Strongly spiced towards the finish, a bit too much for my liking.

Hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Fruity yeast aroma with some spice in the background, I’m getting cinnamon, clove and vanilla. Malty flavour with yeast, spice licorice and a touch of alcohol. Well balanced spice.

Bottle, 70cl. An unclear pour, reddish to brown in color and topped by a beige head, reveals aromas of roasted malt, some sourness, chocolate, peat and some burnt notes. The flavor is much the same, with an emphasis on the roasted malt. Full-bodied, chalky mouthfeel. A really nice beer, but there’s something strange about it though. Not in a bad way that is. (071228)
