Bottle. It pours with a lot of floaties, an unclear body, orange in color, and with a good deal of bubbles. Topped by a nice, white head. The nose has malt, hops, some yeast and a note of orange. Citrus, hops, malt and some spicyenss makes the flavor. Medium body and a spiced and citrusy finish. Not too hoppy considering the name, actually it is a quite balanced and quaffable beer. (070413)

The second beer shared with ozujsko that we got from Papsoe Batch no.7 - January 2007 This seemed like an interesting concept, a black beer with belgian yeast.... and it smelled and looked exactly as it should. Opaque very dark brown/nearly black colour, teeny tiny brown head that went away immediately. Like cola I guess. The nose was lovely and complex, bubblegum liquorice, honey, chocolate with orange bits in, and weak notes of coffee and maybe alcohol. The taste turned out to be a bit of a letdown after that. It was nice and smooth with a distinct note of melon, weak weak banana, and the omnipresent earthy/coffeeish roasted malt. Fine, not as complex in taste as I hoped. More like a good schwarzbier or dryer dunkel than either a stout or a belgian ale.

An amber ale, with caramel and Munchener malt flavor and aroma, but also a light presence of Belgian yeast.

(Bottle 70 cl) Pours an almost clear, warm, orangey brown with a small, bubbly, off-white head. Aroma of nuts and fruit. Quite full-bodied with lots of sweet, caramel malt. Somewhat high in carbonation. Floral hop notes also leaving quite some bitterness. Not exactly a complex brew but actually quite pleasant. 070407

(Bottle 70 cl) Very unclear, amber golden with a dense, off-white head. Lots of yeast lumps. Aroma of yeast and diacetyl. Medium-bodied, quite malty and fruity with notes of yeast. Comes with a surprisingly solid hopping. Not at all a bad brew, 220207

(Bottle 70 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a yellowish head. Very fresh and fruity aroma with distinct accents of aniseed. Medium-bodied, sweetish roasted malt with notes of yeast and fruit. Rather subdued bitterness. Quite a decent Christmas beer. 160207

(Bottle 50 cl) Completely black and opaque with an almost absent, off-white head. Sweetish, fruity aroma with some yeast. Rather full body with sweetish, roasted malt accents and yeast and sugar. Lightly burned bitterness. Intended as a Stout but ended up more like a Belgian ale. Courtesy of Elisabeth. 150207

Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet, but also with an acidity, and notes of roasted malt, as well as anise and light notes of licorice. The flavor is sweet with notes of dark sweet chocolate, herbs, and anise, and towards the end light notes of coffee appears. The mouthfeel is very smooth.

Bryg no. 5. Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a lazing light orange head. The aroma is sweet herbal combined with notes of hops, and light grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with spicy notes of coriander, and a light hoppy note - not much hop wonder over this, as the name suggests. The end is medium bitter.
