Raspberry The Provincial Funkwerks 4.2% A lovely cloudy grapefruit looking pour with a tart acidic wheat aroma. The taste is acidic tart wheaty raspberry, very smooth and easy drinking. Tasty.

Tap at Koumin. Salmon pink, cloudy, with lace. Tart raspberry nose, slightly lactic, a bit salty. Lioght, nice tartness, raspberry and the seeds. Simple but refreshing and tasty.

Bottle shared during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clearish pale yellow with a frothy, white head. The nose holds brett, citrus, dried pale malts. Big sweet flavour with notes of pale wood, ripening citrus fruits, more brett, some poo. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Good balance in the finish, moderately sweet, with further brett funk, melon, tangerine. Good depth. Nice and drinkable.

Bottle shared during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Cheers! Pours clear yellow with a bubbly, white head. The nose holds rich dough, light yeast, herbs, honey. Medium to big sweet flavour with light brett funk, some lemony twang, pale bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, rich and sugary. Not bad on the whole.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours coppery gold with a transient near white head. Aroma of peach and clearly whisky. Near med body. Flavor is very peach with some wood and Brett notes. I think the peach and whisky dominates, but it is a very tasty and pleasant drink.

Draft at Funkwerks - hazy copper - medium honey sweetness, though not sticky it cloying - white pepper and other medium spicy phenolics - moderate grassy and floral hoppiness - not quite as clean or balanced as I’d hoped, but a fair Americanized version.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with light head. Aromas of burnt sugar, golden raisins and sweet toasted malts. Flavors of earthy metallic Belgian yeast, burnt caramel, raisins and dried malts. Some light vegetal notes. Much like a lot of American Quads.

12 oz. bottle, pours a dep dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of dark fruits, some caramel, and toasted bread malt. Flavour is very sweet, with lots of caramel malt sweetness upfront, followed by dark fruits, and toasted bready notes. Bordering on cloyingly sweet, but still quite nice in small quantities. Not an authentic quad, but still solid.

Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is full of Belgian yeast strains and that spicy scent they produce. Loads of candy sugar. Taste feels maybe a bit lighter than the nose would suggest - but only a bit. There is some grainy feel coming from the malts and then also yeast spices, some cloves and candy sugar thing. Bitter background, so hops are also definitely there. Overall, I can drink it but well, not sure I am really enjoying this as much as I could be.

This one feels very Belgian to me. Pours slightly hazy golden. Initially a huge frothy head but that comes down to a still decent layer of foam. Aroma is full of spicy yeast, together with candy sugar sweetness. Candy sugar is coming out also in the taste. Body is quite heavy and thick, taste caramelly, sugary and yeasty. If you come over of this initial heavy feel it has, some fruits come out as well, peach and mango maybe but a bit too much powerful yeast spices and sugary heaviness are not letting me to enjoy that fully. Still not bad but I was hoping for a more funky beer (Funkwerks - funky??? Too much to ask?).
