Draft. Coffee, chocolate, light rye malt, and hay aroma. Black with small head. Mildly sweet coffee, chocolate, bready malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Smooth body. Very nice.

Draft. Orange, apple, candi sugar, malt, and straw aroma. Amber with small head. Moderately sweet light citrus, candi sugar, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter quinine/hay flavor. Good body.

Draft. Biscuit malt and hay aroma. Pale yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet creamy biscuit malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Solid.

Draft. Lemon, salt, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Hazy pale yellow with moderate head. Sweet-tart lemon/orange, mild salt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Nice body. A solid Gose.

Crisp, slightly hazy pee coloured body with a bright yellow glow, some hints of gold and a thin, two centimetre tall just off-white head, interesting, but nice coloured, knowing it’s beer. Aroma of grass, light hay, citrus and a dose of astringent hops. Light-bodied; Sharp grassy and herbal flavours at first with a big dose of citrus and fresh cut grass along with a mellow biscuity malt and the noticeable addition of a lager yeast, seemingly german. Aftertaste shows some nice hoppy bitterness, a dose of the citrus, a lot of grass and herbs and finishing with a smooth and subtle sweetness. Overall, a nice lager with a lot of flavours, some good hop elements, a nice balance and quite a bit of complexity for a lager and the style. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 26-April-2017 for US$2,49, sampled at home in front of the store on 15-June-2017.

Sampled on draft at Elephant & Castle this beer poured a honey color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma? was dryish, grainy and a bit yeasty. The flavor was dryish and grainy with cracker and a bit of citrus. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Tulip at Brookland Pint turbid gold - nose of beach plums, lemon, white grape - tart, but not overpowering acidity in the flavor, along with some rustic wheat tones - there’s some odd background smokiness, perhaps an off phenol, but otherwise light and refreshing.

On tap at the brewery, pours a hazy yellow with some sudsy, white head. Nose has lemon, orange, floral notes, some grass. Flavor follows, orange, grass, grist, lemon. The El Dorado lends a distinct lemony note. Doesn’t ready NE style IPA, but it’s still quite good. Dry and bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery, pours a lightly hazy dark hold with some sudsy white head. Nose is nice, honey, malt, mild grist, some nice sweetened coffee. Flavor melds the two well, the sweet honey / corny Common ale is there but so is a nice, approachable blonde roast coffee. Results in a little butterscotch action. Finishes lightly sweet. I’m partial to blondes/goldens with coffee. I think its a good marriage.
