Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice hazy light brown head. Aroma of rich malt, earthy and caramelised sugars with a nutty and definitely funky yeast smell. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty flavour with some good grain and funk and a touch of hops near the finish. Aftertaste shows some grassy and herbal notes with a little funk as well. Overall, a very interesting beer with a slightly herbal and floral flavour, but more of a funky, caramel and nutty flavour that isn’t a typical for the style, but decent to try. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (P Street, Logan Circle), DC on 16-December-2015 for US$10,99 sampled at home in Washington on the 4th of July 2016 in celebration of Independence Day, watching the fire. works over this fine city.

Rich deep bronze coloured body with an orange glow and a thick, four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, dank hops and some nice malt. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy, herbal and citrusey hops with a nicely balanced malt backbone and some great citrus elements. Aftertaste shows a nice balance of citrus, malt and hops with an emphasis on the hoppier side of things, which shows well. Aftertaste is relatively balanced with a lot of citrus elements, a good hop flavour of grass and herbs and a light bit of sugars evident. Overall, a very nice East Coast IPA that is well balanced and a relatively easy drinker, but showing some complexities. I sampled this twelve ounce can while on the Potomac for a Mother’s Day Picnic on 08-May-2016 after purchasing it at Whole Foods in Washington (Eye Street NorthWest, Foggy Bottom) a few minutes prior on 08-May-2016 for US$2,49
