Description
In May 1867, the Leinenkugel family brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin by Jacob Leinenkugel. He was a family man driven by an iron work ethic, and he knew that his German family heritage would play an integral part of his brewery’s success. Today, the sixth generation of Leinenkugels continues to brew some of the same family-inspired recipes that Jacob poured his heart and soul into. Over the years, our family has grown and so has our brewery, but our history and heritage remain at the forefront.

Bottle. A spiced citrus spritzer in a beer bottle. Coriander. A little orange. Coriander. Some citrus. Coriander. Hazy, dark yellow body with a white head that disappears. The aroma has some malts in it in the form of toasted grain, but the dominant scent is coriander and orange peel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Light body and watery texture. Lots of carbonation. What this beer has going for it is that it is a thirst-quencher with coriander flavoring.

Thanks to valpoaj for the bottle - viscous black beer, with some light getting in around the edges, giving it a ruby ring around the sides - pretty much no head, but there is a faint ring of foam - smells like vanilla, bourbon, blueberries, chocolate, some alcohol, smoke, wood - slick, oily mouthfeel, with low carbonation - actually quite dry up front, with some quite strong tannic character - a bit of chocolate sweetness develops, and some roasted malts and a smoky quality come into play - espresso bitterness purges the momentary sweetness, and the tannic/red wine character returns - sweetness and smokiness become more apparent as it warms, as does the alcohol - a bit of tobacco and hops in the finish - this is quite good - I’ve gained a new respect for this brewery.

Bottle... a most excellent bonus from Pailhead. Pours absolutely black with a dark brown head and decent lacing. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Taste is very intense! Similar notes as in the aroma with a nice bitterness to balance it out. Creamy mouthfeel. This is a damned good stout.

Bottle: Pours black with a smaller brown head. Nose is roasty and chocolate filled. Wtf, is that banana bread I smell? Viscous and creamy mouthful tastes of roasty malt, chocolate, and bits of espresso. A little bittersweetness. Very nice. Thanks BuckeyeBoy.

Dense, off-white head that quickly diminishes and dark copper, clear body. Aroma displays notes of roast, cherry, vanilla and nuts with a hint of caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately acidic. Slightly bitter in the finish. Medium body and watery texture, in fact a very watery texture. Just OK.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy pink/purple color with a small pinkish white head. The aroma is a strong berry as soon as you pour it hits the nose. The taste is a sweet fruit with a citrus finish, not as acidy as most fruit beers. A decent fruit beer from Leinenkugel.

Big thanks to gillard for sharing this brew. Pours total blackness with nice looking mocha head and spotty lacing. The aroma is a mix of roasted malts and dark fruity esters like sweet dark grapes, raisins, boysenberries and sugar coated cherries. As it warms it smells more roasty, dark chocolate and hints of alcohol phenols. The taste comes off as, “wow this is goooood.” It starts roasty with a hit of burnt malts. The dark fruitiness enters the picture just before midway where a rich velvety chocolaty goodness shows up to bring the taste to the finish. YUM.
