Pint can. It pours a medium gold color. Strangely muted with an off white head. The aroma is very estery for a Pils with lots of apple and pear notes. Some bread crust and maybe a hint of sweeter biscuit malt. The flavor is a little better with more bready malt. It still has some light pear notes and some spicy noble hops. Maybe a whisper of candied ginger, but no spiciness or any wasabi for that matter. No heat whatsoever. This surprises me considering the concept of this beer and the brewer, although I can’t say I’m disappointed. A bit boring overall and a bit estery for a Pils, but not as bad as it could’ve been, I suppose.

On tap @ Nedre Foss Gaard. This is a near clear really deep ruby colored one, not too much of a head on it really. It smells like a sweet bock that has been blended with sweet licorice, some cardboard and a little herbs. Not too bacony really. Mild gliding in the mouth and it's somewhat soft on the carbonation. Prickling I'd say. Again, bockish in the taste. No real traces of the promised bacon here. Dark caramel sweetness and a little ripe plum. Not what the cake promised, but it's definitely a drinkable, slightly dull one. 29.05.2015

Poured from keg at Junkyard, half-pint shared with Finn. Red-brown coloured body. Bare naked surface. Smell of black currant and caramel. Berries flavours added by spices and honeyed caramel. Well bodied with warmth from the alcohol. Heavy stuff, nice sipper (Saturday pub crawl in Nottingham 20.02.2016).
