Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured almost black with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is sweet roasty malt, light molasses. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich, almost creamy, smoky malt, light liquorice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Plenty going on and very refreshing even in the Asian heat.

Can share round at Richy’s. Dark, chestnut brown. Film of tan head. Aromas of chocolate. Tar. Liquorice. Taste is tart, vinous dry. Tart, acidic palate. More dryness, and tartness on the finish. Didn’t get on with this one.

27th June 2015: 2nd Annual Midlands tasting. 500ml can from Martin, cheers mate. Black body with tanned head which soon fell away to a wisp and collar. Aroma was of liquorice and dark malts. Taste was Victoria Plums with a liquorice undertone and a semi-sweet overtone. Different and OK.
