Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, light floral. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry yeast, malt, floral, light spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice and drinkable but not in any volume... well not for me anyway. The dry floral bitterness in the palate is nice up front but quickly becomes less enjoyable.

On tap @ Øltorget, Vulkan May 2014. Pich black body with a small, long lasting, dense, brown head. Strong and nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, alcohol and some perfume. Very nice. Quite strong in flavor as well, dark, roasted malt, liquorice, chocolate, dry fruit, oak, good bitterness and warming alcohol, slightly perfumed. Full body and long aftertaste. Nice, strong and robust beer. Perfect for my hangover breakfast.

Can from the Grumpy Goat, Reading. Black with a tan head. Good strong chocolate aroma. The chocolate is less strong on tasting but still the main flavour. There’s some light roastiness, some sweet cola and- yes- a little liquorice (fortunately not too much). Generally sweetish with some dryness at the end. It’s fine, if a little underwhelming.

12th Dec 2014: one of 22 taps available during a Tap Takeover in Galopper des Jahres, Hamburg. What a great selection there was. This offering poured a misty golden colour with a thin white covering for a head. The nose had a semi-sour fruitiness with a woody and spicy hint within the malty aroma. The taste was also leaning towards sourness, again fruity, spicy and woody in nature from the malty backbone.
