Description
Set in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia, Blue Mountain opened in 2007 as the region’s first rural brewery. Founders Taylor and Mandi Smack and Matt Nucci had a vision to bring the brewery experience out of the normal hustle and bustle of an urban environment. Today, we’re still focused on making an inspired range of the highest-quality beers that can be enjoyed at our two locations in beautiful Nelson County, or in bottles and cans throughout Virginia and beyond.

Bottle. A clear one, dark golden to amber in color, and with a small, off-white head. Quite hoppy nose, almost toothpaste-like, citrus peel and resins too. Not much room for the maltyness, some caramel though. The flavor is pretty much the same, the hops dominates, without leaving too much bitterness. Caramel maltyness. Medium body, quite dry, and with a pleasant bitterness. A decent lager, but not so very classic in my opinion. 120217
