Description
Set in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia, Blue Mountain opened in 2007 as the region’s first rural brewery. Founders Taylor and Mandi Smack and Matt Nucci had a vision to bring the brewery experience out of the normal hustle and bustle of an urban environment. Today, we’re still focused on making an inspired range of the highest-quality beers that can be enjoyed at our two locations in beautiful Nelson County, or in bottles and cans throughout Virginia and beyond.

From a growler filled about an hour ago. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of huge earthy and pine hops, roasted malts, smoke in a combination that sadly is mildly reminiscent of tar. The taste is roasted malts, citrus, earthy and pine hops. A bit of sweetness. Better than the aroma thankfully. Medium bodied. Average carbonation. Slight lingering bitterness.
