375ml bottle from the Hogs Back Brewery shop. Am amber pour with no head; caramel aroma with a trace of vanilla; toasted malt taste with some warmth and caramel; and a light touch of spice to finish. The alcohol is very well hidden, is a pleasantly warming caramel aftertaste.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, picked up at EBF XV, 13/11/13. Hazed chestnut brown with a good sized beige covering that retains well. Nose is marzipan, nutty tones, dark toffee, bready cake mix, suggestion of booze. Taste comprises bready malt, lightly oxidised - surprising for a beer that can be no more than 8 or 9 months old, nutty tones, dark toffee, a little harsh overall. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light booze in the finale. Ok stuff but a little roough around the edges.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours hazy deep brown with a small yellow-white head. The nose is wood, fig, caramel, musty, earth and vanilla. The taste is crisp, brown bread, earth, spice, fig, prune and must with a dry finish. Medium + body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps a bit too old and oxidised, but I still kind of like it...
