Description
With the creation of Village brewery De Meester we want to re-establish the tradition of artisan brewing in Kuurne. Our beers are brewed solely according to the traditional brewing processes, with the greatest care and only with natural raw materials. For our beers, we use hop flowers from Poperinge exclusively and refrain for using nor colour pigments, nor foam improvers, nor artificial seasonings. The result of this traditional work methods are the beers of Village brewery De Meester. Beers with character, interwoven with aromas from the different local hops.

2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Clear golden with a lasting, small, foamy, white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of grass, jenever, young cheese, hay, white bread, white pepper, 'wet' grain. Taste is light fruity sweet, a bit banana estery, more prominent notes of apple peel, apricot & cheese, supported by a 'white' bready malty base; light to medium spicy bitter middle has white pepper, grass & yeasty touch, some sourish wheat too. Dry, grassy hoppy finish, lingering yeast, bread, faintest touch of grain jenever. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Bit messy overall, has slight potential though.

2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Hazy red with a lasting, small, frothy, pink head; some lacing. Aroma of red candy, strawberry jam, red fruity yoghurt, bit industrial, cherries, 'Fristi'. Taste is medium fruity sweet, cherry & strawberry mixed into sweet yoghurt, candy-like too; only slightly sour thanks to a lactic & wheaty touch, note of sour cherry, very faint bitter accent of cherry pits. Dryish, tart, wheaty finish, rather short, some red fruit & sweet candy. Medium body, slick/watery texture, fizzy carbonation. This is even labeled 'Kriek Brut' so one would expect something a bit more refined... alas.
