Description
With the creation of Village brewery De Meester we want to re-establish the tradition of artisan brewing in Kuurne. Our beers are brewed solely according to the traditional brewing processes, with the greatest care and only with natural raw materials. For our beers, we use hop flowers from Poperinge exclusively and refrain for using nor colour pigments, nor foam improvers, nor artificial seasonings. The result of this traditional work methods are the beers of Village brewery De Meester. Beers with character, interwoven with aromas from the different local hops.

Bottle. Light toffee and hay/grass aroma. Dark amber with large tan head. Mildly sweet caramel malt and light grass hops flavor. Decent body. Actually not bad - both for an amber ale as well as one of the better Abita offerings.

12 ounce bottle. 2012 vintage. Pours a dark amber brown color. Large bubbly beige head. Earthy, toasted malt aroma with hints of brown sugar and cardamom. Upfront, flavors of burnt caramel and toasted nuts. Midtaste is dry with some spicy hops. Finishes bitter and dry. Overall, a bit perplexing and different. Could have used more malty sweetness.

0.33l bottle shared with ClubGonzo and Inbreak. This is a crystal clear dark maple syrup colored beer with a small sidesticking just off-white head. I get mainly malts and a good amounts of american hops. It has a somewhat thin texture and a soft carbonation level. Flavor vise this is actually a bit boring. Light malty and sweet. It just feels really really one dimensional in almost every way. Not bad tasting, and it gains some points for that, but it's definitely not something I have to drink again. 18.04.2012
