Week old pint can A: Poured thick sludgy brown black with barely any head or retention. S: Fresh roast coffee and strong toasted bread. A little sweet cocoa. T: Again, strong fresh coffee leads, including a faint tart berry note with some bitter chocolate, roast grains and wood fading at the end. M: Subtle but active carbonation, medium full body, slick texture and drying finish. O: Good taste, great aroma and low sweetness make this a hit with me, though overall I'd prefer the Premium Roast, which it replaces.

5 week old pint can A: Poured a tall white pillow of meringue atop a body of clear pale gold with a small swirl of fine sediment. Excellent head retention and thick blotchy lace. S: Pungent with heavy pine, musty herbs and woody undertones. T: Bitter pine dominates with a lingering herbal sweetness beneath. Tart citrus and berries are all but drowned out in a woody aftertaste. M: Medium full body with light carbonation and a rough resinous finish. O: Interesting and tasty if not very drinkable. Good but one is enough.

3 week old pint can A: Poured a big thick off white head with very good retention atop a clear rich orange gold body. Patchy lace left. S: Sweet, peppery and spicy notes of cassia or cinnamon along with zesty lemon and tangerine. T: Heavy orange peel and a bit of tart pulp. Rich toast and biscuit balance nicely. Spicy but not peppery finish. M: Fine carbonation, smooth texture and a powdery finish make for a great mouthfeel. O: Again I'm wowed by a NoDa product. This is very good.
