Courtesy of markwise. Pours clear copper with gold edges and tan head. The aroma is earthy, herbally, floral and malty sweet and maybe a touch of grapefruit in there too. The taste has more grapefruit than the nose with some sweet crystal malts and a thin ring of earthy herbally floral hops. Nice stuff.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a clear orange amber with a gray head that dissipated slowly. Aroma had a distinct onion note with sweet grain and pine. Flavor had that same distinct onion note with more pine and less of the sweet grain note. Seeing as I really dislike any onion flavor, it was a major hindrance on my enjoyment of this beer.

12 ounce bottle opened 5/9/10 and courtesy of Mr. Pickles. Thanks! Pours a hazy dark brown color with a medium sized tan frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. The aroma is primarily citrus hops with a bit of a tropical vibe, and toffeeish malts. The taste is citrus hop notes with a strong earthy/resiny component. Some tropical notes here as well. Medium bodied. Pretty good IPA.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Mr. Pickles. Thanks! Opened on 5/8/10. This is my first try of Citra hops and of this brewery, and I’m impressed on both ends. This pours a copper color, nearly clear but with a very light hazy from very fine particulates. Medium sized creamy white head shows good head retention and lacing. The aroma is citrus and herbal hops with an earthy bitterness reminiscent of rye, along with some tropical notes. The taste is very hoppy with some leafiness and lots of fruit notes, including citrus, mango, papaya and other tropical fruits. Some caramel and faint toffee in the finish. Definitely hop forward but decently balanced. Very nice beer.

Bottle - a lot of banana and melon in the nose, along with some crackery malts and light yeast phenols, as well as some moderate alcohol presence - the flavor is very sweet, but some peppery character and herbal bitterness tries to balance this, with mixed results - it remains rather honey sweet regardless - honey and strong banana - mild pepper and alcohol - meh.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber. Has a malty citrus hoppy aroma. Slightly sweetish malty hoppy bitter flavor with hints of citrus. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish with some weak hints of caramel and hints of citrus in the aftertaste.

Rating #1700. 12 oz bottle sent to me by my 2009 winter Secret Santa. Pour is a hazed copper brown with a two inch tan head. Head falls slowly with nice lacing. Aroma of resin hops along with some pine notes. Fresh and clean nose. Taste is big resin bitterness, immediately scrapes the tongue. The pine is present in the longish finish. There is also a grassy mineral malt in there too, though the balance is well towards the hops. Like the nose, the taste is fresh and clean. Residual hops are very long lasting. Palate is medium, a bit oily, active carbonation. Nice brightly hoppy beer - thanks Santa.

Bottle thanks to fidelis83. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of fruity (among other things mango), citrus and slightly pine like hops. Light caramel and sugary notes left behind. Taste is pine cone, slightly husky, astringent, and hay like. Hoppy, but too grassy and astringent. Thin, with medium to high carbonation.

Draft at OF. Hazy orange-brown color. Solid APA. Sandy brown malt with some higher than average hop bitterness. Top notch example of the style. Dry and sweet, perfect balance. Quality stuff.

Bottle. Hazy golden-orange color. No real head..hmmm maybe a touch past it’s prime, not one to be aged assumably. I expected much more from AA. This pretty much tasted like a sugar bomb to me. No real subtleties or interesting facets. Candi-sugar dominated, sweet sugary aftertaste. Not much vibrance. Hardly comparable to a good Belgian example. Mellow sweet aroma. Got better as it warmed to room temperature.
