About
Tampa Bay Brewing Company is one of Florida’s first & premier Craft Breweries. TBBC opened at the tail end of the last "Micro-Brew" Boom. Our philosophy then and now is simple: Brew beer we love to drink! Thank goodness there were plenty of like-minded people around to support our endeavor. Today, TBBC thrives within the incredible brewing community of Tampa, Florida which was once just a two brewery town...we were lonely back then! We currently operate an Ybor Brewpub and a Production Brewery in the northern part of Tampa. We are organically growing distribution with the end goal of being a Florida only brand with a driving vision of Beer Crafted for the Florida Lifestyle. Cheers!

Hey look at that a traditional AIPA. I'm excited! Nose is very much in the traditional vein, it leans heavy on citrus, esp grapefruit rind and a hint of lemon. There is a deep resin there too. This reminds a tad of celebration ale though not as bright. But it feels like cascade, centennial, and chinook. That brings me back. Decent enough malt backbone, some caramel presence, hefty bitterness. It does the job.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a subtle lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma of deep allspice and pitted fruits with some raisins and nutmeg here as well with a good deal of squash at the end with a definite hit of caramelised sugars, too. Medium-bodied; Rich squash flavours and consistency show at first with a pungent sweetness and a big hit of the spice at the end that blends well with the slight rustic and earthy notes from the grain that's still here. Aftertaste shows a nice balance of rich squash and pungent spices that hit nicely with a good deal of sugars at the tail end. Overall, a very nice squash-based beer with a good level of both spices and sugars that is complex, robust and fairly easy-drinking, considering that I'm doing it outside in sunny Florida in May, this is a nice option for the style! I sampled this sixteen ounce pint-sized can purchased from ABC Wine & Liqour in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, yesterday on 30-April-2022 for US$3,39 sampled at the pool here at my hotel in Orlando, Florida on 01-May-2022.

Pour is a clear amber with a large white head. Aroma is sweet malt and a surprisingly invigorating herbal hop. Flavor is a nice dry chewy malt with more of that herbal hop. Finish is caramel malt with a ever so slight alcohol presence. It has been a long time since I've had a barley wine but for an American version this was quite decent. Lots of sticky and chewy malt but the hops shined as well.

Draft sampler at the 2022 Rocky Water Brew Fest. Pours a very cloudy yellow color with a bright white head. Hoppy flavor, but with a mellow bitterness. Very hoppy but not super bitter.
