Description
The Hecks family have been making traditional farmhouse cider in Somerset for six generations, since 1841.
In 1896, we started to sell our cider from our farm shop in Street.
We make our cider by blending juice from apples all grown locally in the farm’s orchards. The cider is fermented in wooden barrels and sold draught from the wood.

Keg up the white lady. I asked whether these were the usual BIAB affairs, and they are, but kept in the cellar and hooked up to the draught wine lines. Pours hazy orange with no head. Aromas of tart apples and caramel, faint woody notes. Taste is a bit cheesy, funky apples. Dry finish.

(Poured from a bag at HBF2016) The cider poured pale golden and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had wood, pears and tartness. Palate was medium bodied and warming. Flavours were sweetness, tartness, pears and more sweetness. Aftertaste had pears, tartness and sweetness. A nicely done pear cider.
