Bottle shared at the Gardens - thanks to Paul. Pours clear amber with a frothy off-white head. The nose holds some peat, plastic, burnt grains. Medium sweet flavor, pretty dry, some earth, smoke, burnt grain. Medium to full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some burnt wood, toasted caramel, more earth, subtle plastic. So so.

Bottle shared at Leightons. It pours deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is big smoked peat, medicinal, tcp, wood, Islay whisky, caramelised banana, some sweetness and dried fruits. The taste is bitter, woody, medicinal, light burnt plastic, dried fruits, raisin, charred earth and toasty grain with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice aroma and a step up from the sherry, but still has some odd burnt plastic going down.

Bottle shared at Leightons. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with minimal head. The nose is varnish, phenolic, sherry, jammy, berry, booze, ripe fruit and dull smoke. The taste is bitter, burnt plastic, alcohol, spicy, wood, dull sherry, dried berry, charred, medicinal stuff and a touch of menthol with odd earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Aroma is quite nice, but the taste is very odd indeed. Messy.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 27 Nov 2014) Pale golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grass, grapefruit and biscuits. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, lemon peel, grass, resin, biscuity malt and a generous citric bitterness. Light body, quite dry. Fresh and highly drinkable with lots of taste and a generous hop presence. Nice one.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - floral with light citrus. Taste - interesting oranges with green stalky notes. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - a good ale. Perhaps a touch too sweet and tangy on the finish.

Cask @ Pot Still and 500ml bottle. Pours deep red with little head. Sweet aroma with cloves and spices. Taste is sweet malt with a heavy dose of Christmas spices. Best Christmas beer I’ve had, and definitely better on cask than bottle
