Cask at The Old Bell Inn and bottle from Aldi. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, wood, mango and caramel. Flavour is very similar to the aroma – tropical fruit with a sharp grapefruit flavour. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A very juicy Bitter.

On tap @ the Haymarket Bar. This was a solid bitter, true to its style if just a little on the light side. Expected biscuits and toffee were there.

Bottle at the Pre-Zwanze tasting. Aroma is hedgerow berry, toffe, hint of brett / farmyard. Hazed caramel / red with a thin white head. REally dry palate . Hint of roast in the finish. Light metal Biscuit. Not sure if the light brett is intentional.

Cask at Number 27, Inverness, 18/10/13. Mid black with a bonny tan head that retains well. Nose incorporates a good roast malt blast, dark toffee, hint of coffee. Taste comprises coffee notes, dark toffee fudge, chocolate, earthy cocoa, roast malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth and caressing on the palate, tip top condition could guzzle all night, cask ale doesn’t come any better in this respect. Decent cask stout.

On cask @ the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - golden almost towards water in colour. A nicely proportioned head. Nose - clean notes of lemon mainly, some pale malt but very minimal. Taste - more of the same as with the nose. Palate - light bodied, long and dry. Overall - a decent balanced session ale, I thought.
