I'll admit that I bought this \"Japanese\" beer (brewed \"under supervision\" in the Czech Rep.) only to get a higher score on the \"most countries\" rating. However I was compelled to drink it tonight (had planned to wait a bit) in order to lose the foul aftertaste of the EKU 28 I had sampled earlier. This beer is definitely contrary to the foul eisbock: It's probably the driest beer I've ever tasted. Refreshing, but not something I'd buy again (ref. Norwegian prices on imported beer), unless I should happen to visit Japan. Rerate: Actually, I DID have it again without visiting Japan: It was a nice accompaniment with a meal in a Japanese garden / restaurant in Denmark.

Not much going on here. Completely mild and unremarkable. Thick head that disappeared fast, typical lager coloring. Really lacking in the taste department though. I am still waiting for that first really good Japanese beer.

Pale yellow. Very light bodied, very clean, very low bitterness. Boring and industrial, but at least it works well as a thirstquencher.

Can, HK. Brown, kind of opaque. The aroma is fruity and slightly toffeeish. Soft and light palate has some toffee and dark sugars. Maybe a little raisiny fruitiness. Decent, if a little bit plain.

Draft at the Bangkok airport. Golden colour. Dull, grainy aroma. Fairly dry, slightly appley. Harsh fizz on the back of the tongue. Bland, but at least clean.

Not too bad - crisp with med body and moderate malt flavor. Very easy to drink with no unpleasant flavors.
