Ljust halmgul klar vätska med vit tunn skumslöja. Brödig och lätt gräsig arom. Låg men markerad maltighet med en lätt, ren och neutral beska. Viss krispighet finns i munkänslan.

Bottle at James, 16/09/23. Golden pour with a white cap that escapes edgewards. Nose is grains, herb, pale malts, corn husk. Taste comprises cereals, strae, grains, paper. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable macro logger... plenty better out there.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Waitrose. Pours clear pale yellow with a slight, foamy white head. Light sweet paper with notes of crisp and papery malts, cereal, a nip of straw. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry finish, some cereal sugars, low bitterness. So so.

Bottle at the Duck In The Pond (Ember Inns), Harrow Weald. Pale gold with a white head and middling fizz. I was pleasantly surprised at first - there's some nice leafy, grassy hoppiness up front, and a little lemon. It's less watery than some AF beers, but still a little thin. Unfortunately, as you drink more, sweetcorn emerges to ruin the initially positive impression. Yeah, the sweetcorn ruins it for me. Still better than many AF world lagers though.

11.2 oz bottle from the airport lounge. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a small white head and good retention. Fair lacing. Faint pale malt aroma. As expected, crisp pale malt flavor with a dry, sharp finish similar to a pilsner. Fairly generic overall, except for the dryer than average finish. Medium-light body. High carbonation. Not bitter. Decent. Made in Italy?

Can with a cool pull tab. The foam is unrelenting which I guess is intentional. A light metallic fruity nose. Smooth, sweet, big foamy body. Ok.

Can at home, from a friend. Very pale beer, small head. Aroma is malt, grain. Taste is the same, light bitter, ok beer but nothing much.

Big poster in You restaurant, Surfers Paradise. Says 'Asahi Kuronama'. I order a bottle. Label is mostly Japanese except the words 'Munich-style Fortune Phoenix'. Apparently re-launched Nov 2021. On with the review....334ml bottle into glass, mahogany red with a large head of foam. Nose is roasted barley and toast. Patchy lacing.Taste is zingy, refreshing. Smooth and flat in the mouth. Very very easy to drink. Finish is dry. Bitter cocoa with distant fruit and chocolate. Goes great with gyozas!
