200th rating of this beer. Woot. 12 ounce bottle courtesy of daknole. Thanks! Pours a clear straw yellow color with a meadium head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma of grain, hay, corn and honey. Very very light bitterness. Taste is fruity with notes of peach, apple, grain, corn. Light grassy hop notes. Thin-medium bodied. Fairly decent for a pale lager.

A golden lager with a thin white head. Aroma of light corn adjunct. In mouth, a light corny malt, a bit of hops, typical lager from Latin America. Bottle from ABC liquors, Orlando. April 11 2009.

So I can thank Tim for getting me this beer, but that would well, weird. I just made some food where I used some of Solan’s Black Pepper-Basil-Mango-Habanero Hot Sauce. And I thought I used a little bit but I miscalculated. So I knew I needed something to try to fight off the heat. I could have gone with an IPA but basically I just wanted something water like, and this gave me a "good" opportunity to finally drink this. The beer pours a completely clear macro piss yellow with a large head that fades and leaves a little bit of lacing on the glass. Aroma is almost nothing with just a bit of sweet corn. Taste is similar with almost nothing with just a bit of that macro corn at the end. I guess it isn’t bad but it isn’t anything. Damn, Solan makes some hot. hot sauce.
12oz can in a thistle glass, thanks to theisti for the beer, and Alan for the hot sauce.

350 ml can enjoyed after a Canopy Tour / Zip Line excursion. Pour is clear golden with a one inch white head. Aroma of malt and corn. The corn smells grainy and unnatural. Taste is a bit cleaner than the nose, but is still the malt and corn. Palate is thin, a touch watery with a finish that featured the corn in an unpleasant way.

350 ml can drank aboard a Catamaran tour. Pour is clear golden with a one inch white head. The head is very foamy, and deposits decent lace is it retreats (clear plastic cup, mind you). Aroma of malt, spicy earthiness and a kiss of hops. This was actually the first beer I had in Costa Rica where I could smell hops. That’s good, I guess, since this was not a real pleasant hop aroma. Taste is malty, sweet chemical, grainy and a bitterness near the finish. Palate is thin with a long finish this is not terribly pleasant.

350 ml bottle drank at lunch with Red Snapper in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Pour is clear yellow golden with a two inch snow white head. Head falls fairly slow, with nice lacing. Aroma of almost nothing, perhaps a sweet fruitiness. Taste was watery with a touch of the fruit sweetness and a very brief moment of malt. Palate is thin and watery, with a dull earthy finish. This was the worst beer I had during my trip to Costa Rica, though the Red Snapper was the best I have ever had - good lunch!

350 ml can enjoyed immediately after "The Congo Trail" Canopy Tour / Zip Line in Guanacaste Costa Rica. Pour is clear brown, darker than I would have expected - much like cola. Head is one inch and tan. Aroma of malt and sweet caramel. Taste is the maltiness, sweet and grainy with a nice clean finish. The sweetness has some fruit to it, but it is actually pretty nice. Palate is thin, and a bit more mouth coating then I would have liked. Overall, this was easily the best beer I had on my trip to Costa Rica.

350 ml can, enjoyed a few different times during my trip to Costa Rica. Pour is clear pale golden, water almost visible. Aroma of really not much at all, perhaps a touch of the malt, a kiss of the adjunct. Taste is actually pretty clean, though tasteless. This was much like any ordinary American Light beer, but perhaps a bit cleaner taste. Palate is crisp, watery, refreshing and inoffensive. Worked at the beach and pool.

350 ml can enjoyed at my hotel at Playa Conchal, Costa Rica. This was the beer that was the most available, and I had a bunch of it throughout my trip. Pour is clear very pale golden with a one inch off white head. A bunch of carbonation bubbles. Head falls fast. Aroma of faint malt, slightly dirty, very faint sweetness. Dull nose, but not unpleasant. Taste is ordinary Pale lager, some chemical sweet malt, maybe a hint of corn. This really did not warm up well. Palate is highly carbonated, thin with a cleaner finish than expected.
