Description
Our story begins with three brothers and a city with a rich brewing history. In 2009 Jerrit, Jitze and Remko Vellenga decide that Weesp, the city on the Vecht river, should get its own beer again after 100 years. After a lot of experimentation, that year they started brewing the first thousand liters of beer.

We brewed our beers for a long time in other breweries. That went well, but due to the ever-increasing demand for Wispe, we often had to move to other breweries. The desire to take matters into your own hands increased.

After ten years of brewing, in 2020 we opened our own brewery in the Sint-Laurentiuskerk, in the old center of the fortified city of Weesp. With a view of the copper brewing kettles you can now enjoy all our beautiful beers here.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before June 2018. A bit hazy, golden amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity, slightly spicy aroma of apple skin, dried apricot, candy sugar and maybe a touch of juniper. Moderately sweet, a little bitter, fruity-floral and slightly spicy taste of apple skin, honey, dried apricot, some vanilla and faint hints of juniper, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting flavours for a Tripel even if the juniper is hardly detectable, definitely enjoyable and well-made.

Etwas unappetitliche Farbe, erinnert mich an Apfelmus.

Courtesy of Craftmember, cheers! Loose, irregular, off-white bubbly head, leaving little lacing; cristal clear, brownish copper colour with amberish hue. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch, the cooked smell of pasteurization, autumn leaves, biscuit, honey, melting butter, dried flowers, fig, banana peel, candied orange, vague hint of diluted coffee. Restrained fruity, sweetish with a sourish hint, dried fig, banana accent, relatively low carbo, smooth and supple mouthfeel, caramelly, bit buttery, touch toasted and very lightly bittering, very mild herbal, almost tea-like hop touch, but malt sweet ending in general. Very stereotypical Dutch autumn Bock, no high ambitions here, but it serves its purpose.
